Community Connection - COVID-19 Update

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY WITH WHAT THEY NEED

MARCH 2020 | Week 3 | Vol.5

Dear Bambinos Clients and Supporters,

I’m sure the question has come to your mind at least once over the last week: “Will Bambinos remain open with COVID-19 spreading?

”In short, our services WILL remain available for you. We know that especially now, with the run on toilet paper and wipes, and just general overcrowding in stores, you need your diapers, wipes and formula now more than ever.

That said, we do consider the safety and security of our clients, and community as a whole, of utmost importance. We see the value of social distancing and though we are not afraid, we want to be responsible. We have mamas who have immuno-compromised kids or who do care-giving in addition to volunteering with us.

In response to all of these concerns, our plan is to be available at our normal times, but our lobby will be closed. We will be offering car-side service where you can call our office to announce you are there, tell us what you need and we’ll bring it out. In addition to this, we will be available by evening appointment and for deliveries if you are stuck at home.

How will this work? Call us at 503-623-4618 when you arrive. We’ll come out to you. That simple! If you need an evening appointment or delivery, please call DURING our open hours and we will connect you with a volunteer who can help.

All classes/group meetings in our office are postponed for now.

We plan to hold our Car Sat Clinic on Thursday, 4/2 as it is held outdoors, and falls into the safe guidelines of groups of 50 or less. However, if this changes, we'll let you know.

To our supporters, especially those who pray for us, THANK YOU! We've felt the prayers as we have been coming up with a response that has morphed drastically over the last 48 hours as the news and recommendations keep changing. We would appreciate prayers for those of our children who are immuno-compromised and those of us who work with the elderly. Please also pray for our clients who are particularly fearful.

We pray that our response conveys that we want to be fearless, yet wise. We love you all. And we'll get through this!

"3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." (2 Cor. 1:3-4)

OUR MISSION Bambinos, Oregon is a non-profit ministry that aims to reduce stress in the homes of Polk County, Oregon families by providing essential supplies, extra-curricular scholarships, and emotional support. As we demonstrate the love of Christ our hope is to impact families in such a way that their lives are transformed, contributing to a healthier community.

HELP SUPPORT BAMBINOS We are always in need of people who can pledge to send us a monthly gift that we can put toward our expenses. We call these wonderful people "Bambinos Builders." A pledge as little as $5 per month can still make a big difference.
