COMMUNITY CONNECTION SUPPORTING FAMILIES IN NEED May 2022 | Vol.3 | Week 3

The Formula Shortage

We know you're concerned and anxious. We have already talked to several of you who have looked at multiple stores only to find the shelves empty, or maybe, if you're lucky, one or two cans of the formula your baby uses. We hear your frustration and get that you may be afraid.

But we want to assure you that we're here for you. We have a good supply right now. But we also ask that you continue to be as you always have been with us: courteous and patient. We will not be making exceptions for additional cans at this moment to ensure that everyone who needs something from us gets that something they need. We continue to have a wide variety of brands and types to ensure that your baby's tummy gets what makes it the least fussy.

Our volunteers care. We have already been researching good alternatives for you if your particular brand or type runs out for an extended period of time. If you have questions, please reach out. A few VERY important reminders: 1) No matter how much you may be tempted to add extra water to that formula to make it stretch, PLEASE DO NOT. Formula instructions are there for a reason. Babies' developing brains need a very precise balance of electrolytes and too much water can cause permanent damage. We don't say this to scare you, but to educate you. 2) There is a FB post floating around with a vintage recipe to make formula for babies with Karo syrup, etc. PLEASE DO NOT make this recipe. Scientific advancements have proven that the ingredients in those old home remedy recipes are very bad for babies. ALTERNATIVELY, we have good recipes for certain homemade formulas and cereals that we are happy to share. 3) PLEASE consult your doctor before doing any major changes. You know your baby best; They know how best to assist you in keeping your baby healthy. We are happy to partner with you in changes you make AFTER you consult a medical professional. 4) We love that you love us and want to share us with your friends. Please have them contact us DIRECTLY. We will not be able to give you formula for a friend. If they are not a RESIDENT OF POLK COUNTY, we can try to find them resources in their area. 5) This will get better! We have trusted our Heavenly Father to provide the needs of this ministry for going on 14 years now, and He's never let us down. And He will not let you down if you place your trust in Him, too. AMAZON SHOPPING?

Also, a friendly reminder with Christmas shopping upon us...there’s another easy way for you to help! Simply access your Amazon account by shopping through Smile.Amazon.com when doing your normal purchasing. All your account information will stay the same, but Amazon agrees to put 0.5% of your purchase amount towards the charity of your choice. Just select Bambinos Or in the upper left hand corner to make us the charity of choice. It's that easy.

Another great way to help us while shopping on Amazon is to just add a pack of diapers and/or wipes to any order and have it shipped to us! We appreciate any way that help is given.

When we as the Bambinos board lists the people and things we're most thankful for this Thanksgiving season, you're on our list!

HELP SUPPORT BAMBINOS

We are always in need of people who can pledge to send us a monthly gift that we can put toward our expenses. We call these wonderful people "Bambinos Builders." A pledge as little as $5 per month can still make a big difference.
